- Error alert: R.W. Munro says Alexander was married in 1893 which would be at the age of 64 but he had children born in 1856 and 1857. This is possible, of course, but quite unlikely.

XI. ALEXANDER AYLMER MONRO. Of Alexander and his brother we have been unable to learn anything except that they were both engaged in business in the neighbourhood of Birmingham about twenty years ago.

Lyme Regis, Dorset, 11 Apr 1829; Lieutenant Worcestershire Militia; succeeded father as representative of Pitlundie & Bearcrofts family, & elder line of Auchinbowie; died Strand, Starcross, South Devon, 10 January 1907, having married at Tiverton on 14 September 1893 Matilda Jane Goullet (died 1887) with issue - Charles (1856-1871), Henry George (born 1857), John (born 1861), Reginald (1862-1891), William (born 1865), & 4 daughters.
