The following is from "Clan Munro Magazine" 2005 - #24 - p. 42-43
Marion, or Maryanne as the family called her, was born on 2 Dec 1907. She was of an age to remember the First World War and the glory days of Invergordon when squadrons of Royal Navy battleships would lie at anchor in the Cromarty Firth. She was the last person to remember her uncle Hector Seymour Munro, Younger of Foulis, (1895-1918), the only son of Sir Hector Munro, who was tragically killed in 1918 during the closing days of that war. His death left her mother and ultimately her brother Pat heir to Foulis. She was married at Foulis in 1934 to a young soldier, George Chamier, who later became factor to the Munro-Ferguson estate at Novar near Evanton.
Marion and her sister, Joan had much in common, notably a fierce loyalty to the family and its traditions, a love of Foulis and Ferindonald and those great Scots' characteristics of determination and thrift. Born to a privileged, if not wealthy, background of large houses and domestic servants, they lived to see huge social changes and to their great credit they adapted well to the more straightened circumstances of the end of the 20th century. Like their mother, Eva Gascoigne, who lived at Foulis for so many years, they were never ones to reject the modern world, instead embracing what was best about it. Like her too, they had a deep sense of duty to those who had served them over the years.
Jo and Maryanne both bore the infirmities of old age bravely and without complaint. They were buried in the tranquil old churchyard at Kiltearn by the sea, where so many Munros have gone to lie. May they rest in peace, remembered by their children and many friends.
