Notes |
- Abigail and her husband moved from Petersham, Massachusetts to Vermont and purchased a large tract of land at Hartland, Vermont where they resided. Daniel was a model farmer and accumulated a considerable property.
Daniel served in the militia of Massachusetts during the Revolution, and probably didn't go to Hartland until after the war was over. During the Revolution he volunteered in the Continental Army and became a Lieutenant.
Daniel was a man of much prominence in the early history of Hartland. He was energetic, determined and at all times active and alive to the true interests of the town. Mr. Spooner served a long series of years in the town offices, as Justice of Peace, Selectman, and Representative to the State Legislature.
Abigail died at age 102.
