Notes |
- !Anglican Church Records, New Carlile and Paspebiac, Quebec, Canada. 1874 - BORN - Frederick, son of Edmund LeGallais of Paspebiac, farmer, and Mary Ann Munro his wife; born July 31, baptized August 8, 1874. (At home) Edmund LeGallais, father; Francis LeGallais. -- James Sikes Note: Twin brother (Albert Munro) baptized and dies in September.
Mother (Mary Ann Munro) dies post-partum August 7, 1874.
It is probable that the Rev. Frederick G. La Gallais (1871-1926) who is buries at St. Peters Church, Paspebiac is the same as this person.
!There is some evidence to support that this child was cared for in the William G. Munro home for some time. In the James Munro Family bible a "Frederick Munro" is listed as a twin of Charles Philip Munro, son of William G. Munro born in 1880. There seems to be some confusion in the record as to what happened to these children and they have a death date of 1888 in the Bible. However, in the 1881 census only Charles (age 1) appears in the william G. Munro household. In the Edmund LeGallais household Frederick does appear listed (6 years old) and also a younger son James Philip (2 Yrs old) and a daughter, Eva, (4 Yrs Old). (Edmund would have re-married by this time).
!Perhaps the confusion concerning these several children occurred when James Munro attempted to list his brothers and sisters in his Bible and did not have written records at hand. The frequency of twins in this family and the recurrent use of similar names easily leads to confusing errors.
