- Edwin attended school in Sioux City, Iowa. In 1900, after his father's death, he moved to Storm Lake, Iowa. He graduated from Buena vista College in Storm Lake. While in college, he was employed by the First National Bank.
Edwin was a very enterprising and ambitious person, sometimes working two jobs at the same time. By the time he was married, he had saved up quite a bit of money. He worked as a bookkeeper at Fort Dodge, Iowa, and at Farmer's Loan and Trust Company in Sioux City. In 1906, he went to Seattle, Washington to marry
In 1906, he went to Seattle, Washington to marry his childhood sweetheart. (They were married for 65 years.) There he worked as a court reporter, and worked in the missing persons department of the Seattle Police.
He lived in Seattle for 25 years and in Tacoma, Washington for 11 years.
Ref. (1) p. says he was born 27 Jul 1882, but p. 380 says he was born 9 Jul 1882.
