    • MARRIAGE: Jessie's great grand daughter, Jayne Sime, told Neva and Jim Munro in e-males, 18 and 19 December 1998, that Jessie and John Sime were married 11 August 1899 at the Urquhart Free Church by Rev. A. Y. Smith. The Free Church of Scotland has 'fire and brimstone' and Old Testament style preaching. Jessie belonged to the Free Church, but John Sime belonged to the Church of Scotland. John was largely an agnostic and according to Willie Sime, Rev. A. Y. Smith did not like John Sime because the Reverend thought that John would take Jessie away from the Free Church. [4]

  • Notes
    • SOURCE: Ina Donaldson says in her letter of 3-1-90 (maybe 3 January 1990, since envelope was postmarked 6 Feb 1990.) that Jessie Munro, Mrs. Sime, had one son and two daughters, Willie, in Forres; Carrie in Aberdeen; and Annie died in 1968.

Margaret Jane Bryce had this to say about Jessie Munro (Extract 35A): Jessie, who married John Syme and lived at Allandale, Urquhart, was a sweet, natured woman, but I think was rather overshadowed by her husband, a prosperous merchant who owned the only shop in the village.
