Notes |
- John enlisted in the military on 24 Dec 1875. It is odd that he would enlist on Christmas Eve when he was 36 years old. He served in the Signal Service and was accidentally drowned 10 Apr 1878 at Rice Path, North Carolina. His body was found 12 Apr on the beach of Bogue Banks near Beaufort, North Carolina, and was shipped by his friends to Annapolis, Maryland.
