Notes |
- William worked as a clerk and bookkeeper in a hotel in Beaumont, Texas around 1880. After he married Anna, the daughter of Stephen Randolph and Julia Elizabeth (Everett) Pennington, they moved to Olive, Texas where William got a job at the Olive-Sternenberg Company, a sawmill. William also worked with the Santa Fe Railroad in Woodville. One reference says they also lived in Edna, Texas.
William's favorite passtime was fishing. He was out fishing when a cold norther blew in with icy rain. He developed pneumonia which became a lingering illness and took his life in 1898. Later, Anna, his widow, married F. J. Lewis, a chief engineer of the Beaumont Irrigation Company. On 2 Oct 1905, Anna was accidently shot through the heart and killed by her new husband in a hunting accident. One reference says she died in Treadway, Texas.
One reference gives William's name as Willie Harry Munro.
