John Alexander "Alec" was a 1925 graduate of Columbia University. He lived outside Morristown, New Jersey and rose to the position of vice president of the National Securities and Research Corporation in New York. He retired in 1963, and moved to Charlottesville, Virginia in 1964. He died at his home there in 1966 after a long illness.
