- Alanson moved to Winchester, Massachusetts in about 1853. He ran an express team to Boston for some years. He continued in the same business with Edmund Sanderson as a partner for a few years and then took over the whole business.
He bought a stable business which he ran with his son, Dennis, until he retired in 1888.
