Notes |
- The following information was written by Mary Blue de Prater in 2004:
--------------------------------------
William used to often visit hes "cousins" John and Sandy Monroe in/near Sanford, North Carolina. He also named the 71st Township area, where his farm was, "Cliffdale" after his "cousin" Cliff Blue, who brought the Aberdeen Rockfish Railroad to that area. I was told by a great aunt tht William and his father, Patrick Daniel Patterson Monroe, came to Cumberland County, North Carolina to help build Camp Ground United Methodist Church, after the death of his mother, Mary Catherine McKethan Monroe and two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" and Adeline from Scarlett Fever in 1886.
