Harriet "Hattie" Matilda Lafantasie worked as a housekeeper to the Catholic Priests in a parish in Potsdam, New York. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed firs for a company in Buffalo, New York for a number of years. She was deaf for a good portion of her life. She never married.
