  • Notes
    • Lionel was born in Headford, Quebec, Canada and went to school there. He moved to St. Catharine's with the family. In about 1900, he was a time-keeper on the Erie Canal and living in Buffalo, New York. In 1902, he began to work in the Dispatch Office at the T. Eaton Company in Toronto, Canada. He knew Timothy Eaton who gave him a walking stick that is still in the family.

Around 1910, he left Eaton's to try his hand on his mother's farm near Locust Hill, but he soon went back to Eaton's. He organized and ran the Santa Claus Parade from its beginning in 1908 until he retired in 1946.
