- Peris' first wife, Polly, was the daughter of Alonzo and Miranda Hubbel.
Peris and Polly lived near Healey Falls, Seymour Township, Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada where they had nine of their eleven children. In 1862 they moved to Oak Lake, Methuen Township, Peterborough County, Ontario, Canada where they had their other two children.
They moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1865 and then homesteaded 80 acres in Pinora Township, Lake County, Michigan in 1866. Polly died in 1874. Peris later homesteaded another 80 acres in what became Munro Township, Cheboygan County, Michigan and moved there in 1876.
He married Annie Haffner in 1877 and died in October 1908.
