• Notes

  Henry was educated at Rock Hill College in Ellicott city, Maryland and at the U>S. Naval Academy. He was in the mercantile business in Saint Louis and Yazoo City, Mississippi 1869-1876. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Signal Corps from 1876 until that service was transferred to the Agriculture Department as the U.S. Weather Bureau in 1888. He became Professor of Meteorology at the U.S. Weather Bureau in 1913.
