Notes |
- Samuel is a descendant of Hezekiah Meroth who was head of a family that changed their surname to Munroe.
His marriage to Martha is not proved.
He served from Dorchester as a bombardier in Capt. Winthrop Gray's Company, Col. Craft's artillery Regiment in 1776. He is probably the Samuel who substituted for Ezekiel Chase in the Revolutionary War.
He moved to Lee, Oneida County, New York where he applied for a pension. In the application, he stated that he lived in Keene, New Hampshire. When his son was married in 1814, he was of Charlestown, Massachusetts.
