  • Notes
    • William is a descendant of Hezekiah Meroth who was head of a family that changed their surname to Munroe.

He is probably the William Meraw who on 4 Jul 1780, enlisted in Capt. Lemuel Clapp's Company and on 8 Jul 1787 was in the Artillery Company as William Maurough. He is also William of Dorchester who was a gunner in Capt. Winthrop Gray's Company, Col. Crafts artillery Regiment. An order for advance pay dated at Hull, Massachusetts 27 Jun 1776, was signed by him as William Manrw.
