Notes |
- Amos and Sarah were married before 1727. Amos was a member of the Wilton Congregational Church in 1727. He and Sarah were dismissed from the congregation in 1740. Some of their children were baptised at Greenfield Hill Church.
In Norwalk, Fairfield, County, there are many land transfers from Amos to others between 1732 and his death. ONe piece of land went to his daughter, Rebeckah on 23 Oct 1733, and to his brother, Solomon on 17 May 1734.
He sold land in Norwalk to his son, Amos, in 1756, probably in anticipation of his death. The administration of his estate was granted to his widow, Sarah, on 6 Dec 1756 and on 7 Mar 1757, she was appointed guardian to Charles, Levinah, Squire and Deborah, the children of Amos, with William "Manrow" as surety. Her daughter, Betty, also chose her mother as guardian. Her son, David, chose Mr. Matthew Seymour of Ridgefield and his guardian on 5 Dec 1757. Her son Charles, chose his brother, William, as his guardian on 24 Mar 1763.
In 1758, Sarah released her dower interest in Norwalk lands to her son Amos of East New Jersey, her daughter, Sarah Manrow of Ridgefield, and Obadiah Wood and Anna his wife of Salem, Westchester County, New York.
