- Benjamin lived in Haralson County, Georgia. He married Millie Caroline Winkles (or Winkle), the daughter of Richard L. and Sarah A. (Williams) Winkles of South Carolina and Georgia.
One reference gives his birth date as 25 Sep 1835 and says that his mother was Elizabeth Phillips, his father's second wife, but the recorded dates of birth of Duncan's children and the death dates of his wives support placing Benjamin as a son of Sarah Phillips, Duncan's first wife.
