Notes |
- In 1850, John was living with his parents in Providence, New York.
The Rev. John Benson Monroe also appears to be called James. He married the daughter of Theodore V. Bishop. He was a "Methodist Episcopal Minister". From 1875 to 1887, he was on probation at nine churches and was finally ordained in 1888. He then served as pastor at six churches from 1888 to 1901. In 1901 he requested supernumary status because of his health. He retired in 1907 and moved to Algona, King Co., Washington for his health.
