Donald graduated from Hazleton High School in Hazleton, Pennsylvania and went on to earn an AA, BA (Business Administration) and MBA at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
In 1972, he retired as an Administrative Officer (Planning) from the Navy Department after 38 years with the U.S. Government.
He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon in college. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and served as President of the General William Smallwood Chapter in Bethesda, Maryland. In addition, he was a member of SR in Washington, D. C.; SCW in Washington, D.C.; MOLL U.S. in Baltimore, Maryland; SUCVW Association in Washington, D.C.; Huguenot Society of Maryland; Episcopal Church; Flagen & Trencher.
His hobbies included: Fixing broken articles (appliances, etc.); and activities associated with hereditary and patriotic organizations.
His wife, Martha, served as State Vice Regent of Maryland Daughters of the American Revolution, and Registrar General of the Colonial Dames XVII Century.
