  Ref 1 says David was born about 1788, while ref 2 says he was born about 1796 or 1806 indicating that the age is hard to read. Ref 2 suggests that David was born in New York and attributes all of his children to his second wife, Amanda. In 1850, he was a farmer living with his family in Waterloo, New York.
