      «i»Nathan...was the progenitor of the Monroes of Wyoming Valley, Pennsylvania, now known as Luzerne County. He returned to Canaan, Litchfield County, Connecticut in 1778. He returned to the Valley, Huntington Township in 1793. His household goods were packed on sleds drawn by oxen. He spent a few weeks with his brother, William, at Otsego, near Cooperstown, New York.«/i»
