  Error alert: Johnson may have been a child of his father's second wife, Margaret. Also according to the dates in the references, Johnson died one year before he was married, which is a bit unusual. There is Rosa Monroe married Erasmus Roberson in 1833 in Granville County, North Carolina. Rosa and Johnson may be related. He moved to Granville County, North Carolina. There is a lot of uncertainty in this family. the Randy Scott Monroe reference has Johnson Monroe, the son of John Monroe, married to Amelia Hurt Hooper. Other references say Johnson Monroe, husband of Amelia Hurt Hooper, was the son of William Monroe and Mary Smith. It is not known if there are two people named Johnson Monroe who have been confused, or if there is just one Johnson Monroe who has been assigned as a child to two different families.
