Notes |
- Simeon lived in Midville, Georgia near the Ogeechee River, but moved from Georgia to Florida about 1843. He lived in Alachua County and Marion County, Florida.
It is said that he was the son of James Monroe whose widow married a Fortner and moved to Florida before 1850.
The 1840 census places Simeon in Burke County 74h district at the same address as John and Joseph. In 1844, "Territorial papers of U.S." list him signing for a road and petitioning for more land.
He died before 1850 and was buried in Sumterville, Florida, where all records were destroyed by fire.
