- Joshua lived in Vermont. It is just speculation that Minerva is the mother of Joshua. In 1850, Minerva was a widow living with Wales, Susan, Caroline Paul, Seth, and Mary. Seth has been identified as Joshua's son and Susan is believed to be Joshua's wife. It is believed that either Joshua and Wales are the same person or that Joshua was not living with the rest of the family when the census was taken. They were all living in Shaftsbury, Vermont.
