Robert Munro his eldest son married four times 1 Marjory daughter to Kenneth McKenzie of Kintall 1573 2 Eleanor daughter to John Earle of Sutherland 1579 3 Janet daughter to George Earle of Caithness 1581 and last was Elizabeth daughter to the Barron of Kilravock by whom he had a daughter Margaret.
Robert...married several times and three contracts are known (1) 16 Nov 1568 with Barbara dr of John Grant of Freuchie (Fraser's chiefs of Grant iii 133-5) but she was contracted anew 1572 and m Colin Mackenzie of Kintall (ib i 143, 154, iii 149); (2) 30 May 1574 with Marjorie sister of Colin Mackenzie of Kintail (RMS 10 Jly 1574 confmg charter by Robert elder of Foulis of 11 June, Sp vii 500); and (3) 15 Apr 1579 with Helenor dr of John earl of Sutherland (Suthd BK. i 129) but she d the night before day appointed for marriage (ib & Suth EM. 173). Of these only the Mackenzie marriage appears to have taken place, and also the two others mentioned in the MS...

He married three times, first, Marjory, youngest daughter of Kenneth Mackenzie, X. of Kintail, by Lady Elizabeth Stewart, third daughter of John third Earl of Atholl, by his wife Lady Mary Campbell, third daughter of Archibald second Earl of Argyll, the marriage being confirmed by a charter granted under the Great Seal on the 11th of July, 1574, by "Robert Munro of Fowlis to Marjory, sister to Colin Mackenzie of Kintail, of the lands of Meikle Findon," in the Black Isle. Kenneth Mackenzie of Kintail died on the 6th of June, 1568. The Lady of Fowlis died a few months after her marriage, without issue.
