- Lieutenant Colonel Cole (or Coll or Colin) Munro was in the Army of Charles I. He served in Colonel Thomas Wheatley's Regiment of Foot and on Sir Richard Lowther's staff in defence of Pontefract Castle in 1644-5.
He served for some time as Governor of Penrith Castle and may have been Governor of Pontefract Castle at one time.
He was unmarried, but left a son who was born out of wedlock.
