- George's Tutor was his uncle David. George served in Col George Benson's troop of the Royal Regiment of Dragoons. The lands of Fyrish were apprised from George in 1695 in favor of his uncle, David.

"Hugh's son Hector had a son George, for whom his uncle David Q/6 was Tutor, who served in Col George Benson's troop of Royal Regt of Dragoons (Heirs 24 May 1714, Invss Sassines), and from whom lands of Fyrish were apprised in favour of David 1695 (SRO Reg of Decreets, Mackenzie ix 500)."
