    • David Munro of Fyres was Commissioner of Supply for Ross. He was Tutor of Fyrish and the lands of Fyrish were apprised to him from his nephew, George.

      David and Catherine had no succession.

      "Hugh Munro of Fyres married Isobel daughter to Robert Munro of Balconie by whom he had John Hector David Mr Alexander George and Hugh Munros."

      "Hugh's son Hector had a son George, for whom his uncle David Q/6 was Tutor, who served in Col George Benson's troop of Royal Regt of Dragoons (Heirs 24 May 1714, Invss Sassines), and from whom lands of Fyrish were apprised in favour of David 1695 (SRO Reg of Decreets, Mackenzie ix 500)."

      "David Munro of Fyres married Catherine daughter to Alexander Munro of Daan but had no succession by her."

      "David Tutor of Fyrish and Commissioner of supply for Ross (FW 291, APS ix 376), for whom the lands were apprised from his nephew George, d 1704 (Invss Sasines)."

      Married Catherine, daughter of Alexander II of Daan without issue. David was the last of this line to own the Fyrish lands. On his death the representation of the family went to his next younger brother, the noted clergyman Rev. Alexander MONRO, Principal of University of Edinburgh.
