      "...Hugh min of Tain had charter of lands of Kiltearn 1708 and d 16 May 1744 (FW 308, Fasti vii 71, viii 669), twice married...second to Christian eldest dr of John Ross of Achnacloich (FW 365) by whom he had Alexander of Kiltearn, Robert, John, Andrew, Hugh, Duncan and 5 drs. (Fasti viii 699);...Robert min of Kincardine d 10 June 1741, having by wife Janet Pirrie had Joseph min of Edderton who d 1785 and William (Heirs 1 Mch 1745, Macgill i 844, Fasti vii 71 & viii 666)."

      "Robert, third son of Teanoird, also studied for the Church at the University of St. Andrews; and having a knowledge of Gaelic, he was recommended by the Assembly, on the 13th of April, 1706, to the Synod of Fife, for a curacy. He was licensed by the Presbytery of Tain on the 1st of December, 1708, and called on the 31st of October, 1709, to the parish of Kincardine, but, from difficulties concerning a sufficient stipend he was not ordained until the 29th of March, 1711. He preached on the day of the national Fast--the 5th of February, 1741--and died five days thereafter, in the 30th year of his ministry. He had married Janet Pirie (who died on the 5th of January, 1771) with issue..."
