An entry in the Presbytery records of Dingwall dated 5 Sep 1682 states that David and his brother, Donald, profaned the Kirk of Killichrist by putting some oxen inside of it one night. The brothers appeared before the Presbytery and claimed that the cattle had simply wandered into the Kirk because it had no door. Witnesses were called who testified that the brothers had asked to used the Kirk for their cattle but were refused. Since it could not be proven that they had deliberately driven the cattle into the Kirk, the two were simply rebuked for having asked to use the Kirk for their cattle.
