- Ref 1 says Hector was illegitamate, but ref 2 seems to indicate that he was not.
Hector accompanied his uncle, Robert, to the German wars, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant. He was known as a "stout and valorous gentleman." He died of a "languish-ague in Vertenberg, being much lamented by his comerades and friends." He was not married.
