"Robert of Ardullie married Isobell daughter to Alexr. Ross of pitkery by whom he had Alexr. James Hugh Andrew in Coul litster and Robert and a daughter Janet married to Teanard."
"...Hugh m Dutchwoman Elleta Bone..."
Hugh was educated in Edinburgh and became a "Litstar" or cloth-dyer there. He was sent to Holland by his brother, Robert, to learn more about his trade. He liked Holland so much that after several years' residence there, he sent to the Highlands for his younger brother, Andrew, to join him. He also married a Dutch woman, Elleta Bone, but they had no children.
Shortly after the Revolution of 1688, they both returned to Scotland, having obtained a contract for dyeing the cloth used for the uniforms of King William III's army.
