- Alexander Munro of Ardullie married the daughter of Major William Cockburn of Stonniflet. He was a writer in Edinburgh. He served as an under clerk of session, and in 1689 he was Commissioner of Supply for Ross. He also served as clerk to Council of War in Scotland at Revolution.
He had a crown charter of Ardullie in 1684.

Alexander was educated in Edinburgh and became one of the Clerks of the Court of Session.
