- In 1850, Brown moved to Dimmick Township, LaSalle County, Illinois, near Peru, Illinois.
On 11 Jun 1873, Brown was kicked and attacked by a frightened horse, suffering serious head woulds, a broken right leg, and other injuries.
Brown died of pneumonia.
