- In about 1903, James and his family moved to Kinmore, North Dakota where they settled a homestead. This farm was lost during the depression of 1930, so the family again moved to the Seattle, Washington area.

JAMES MUNRO IMMIGRATED TO THE US IN OCT 1885 - ENTERING AT THE PORT OF SARNIA, ONTARIO, CANADA AND PORT HURON, MICHIGAN. He reistered his intent to obtain United States citizenship on September 24, 1887 at the District Court of Washington County, Minnesota. He received his citizenship on March 27, 1895 at Eighth Judicial Circuit Court, St Croix County, Wisconsin. Those signing affidavits for him were: Albert Munro (his younger brother) and James Duval (his uncle - younger brother of Celina (Duval) Munro).
