  • Notes
    • David was minister of Kiltearn and JP at Inverness in 1634. He also served as minister at Tain. He had a charter of Killichoan.

David and Florence also had several daughters.

David studied for the Church at St Andrews University, where he obtained his M.A. degree on the 21 Jul 1621. He was licensed and appointed minister of Tarbat in 1628, but was soon transferred to the parish of Kiltearn.

There is a sasine dated 12 Nov 1628, in favour of Mr David Munro, described as minister of Kiltearn, in part of the lands of Tarlogie. Sasine follows the same day, and he has another in which he is similarly designated on 15 Jun 1630.

He was a member of the Generel Assemblies of 1638 and 1639, but was deposed by by the Presbytery of Dingwall in 1648, his deposition being confirmed by the Supreme Court of the Church in Jul 1649. The cause of this action was probably his compliance in Montrose's rebellion.

He appears to have settled in Tain because on 30 May 1649, there is a sasine on a charter by Thomas Ross of Priesthill, with consent of David Munro, minister of Tain,...to Alexander Gray of Ospisdale, of the town and lands of Tarlogie.
