      [Andrew Munro] «i»Son of John Munro, burgess of Edinburgh, later of Culcraggie, & Margaret Muir; baptized 19 April 1621; styled 'Mr.' in «u»Tree«/u» - M.A. 1639; Andrew Monro, student, son of John Monro, burgess of Edinburgh, elected by Town Council 29 January 1641 to be Keeper of the Library in 'King James his Colledge' (in place of Mr. Kenneth Logie, presented to the Kirk of Stirling); still Keeper 23 August 1643 [new keeper appointed 3 April 1646] d. of the plague at Perth, 1645, which necessited University's removal to Linlithgow.

      Andrew was librarian to Edinburgh University. He died of the plague.

      "John Munro of Culcragie married Margaret daughter to Muire Burges of Kirkcaldie by whom he had Mr Andrew Robert Mr William and Christane married to Mr Andrew Munro of Coul and Catherine married to Mr John McGilligan."

      "...son Andrew was librarian to Edinburgh University and d of plague at Perth 1645 (...Mackenzie wrongly says he entered the church)..."

      Ref. (1) says Andrew entered the Church, but R.W. Munro says that is an error.
