| Notes |
- Ref. (3) says John's mother was Janet Fraser, his father's wife. But refs. (1) & (2) say that John was born out of wedlock and his mother's name is is not known. It is believed that the latter version is correct.
Pittonachy or Pittonachty was later renamed Rosehaugh.
