  Walter was the son of Thomas and Hannah (Brown) Felch. He was a farmer, who attended the Methodist Church. He and his family lived at Weare and Henniker, New Hampshire. Page 190 of ref (1) says Walter was born 28 May 1828, but page 314 says his birthdate was 12 Dec 1830. It is not known which date is correct.
