Ebenezer was a Colonel in the Colonial Army, and fought in the French and Indian War. He was a Representative, Justice of the Peace, Selectman and a man of considerable importance in his community. He served as administrator of many estates and in other public capacities. As a surveyor, which was his occupation, he made a map of the first Parish of Reading, Massachusetts as it was before the incorporation of the West Parish.
