Sarah was beautiful and quite dressy, always wearing silk, floor-length, long sleeved, lace-trimmed dresses. After supper, Sarah would go to the front parlor, sit in front of the fireplace, adjust her long skirts, and calmly enjoy smoking a small clay pipe.
