John was baptised at St. Michaels Church, Bristol, Rhode Island. His gravestone says he died on 15 Oct 1897 age 72 years, 9 months, 14 days placing his birthdate on 1 Jan 1825. Other references say he was born about 1817. Since he was christened on 24 Dec 1819, the earlier date is used here, but there could be two people confused here.
On 15 Jan 1847, in Bristol, Rhode Island, John and Charlotte registered their intentions to marry.
