Notes:

The following are entries in the Old Parochial Register of Old Machar:

"June 1st, 1794 William Monro and Jean Cairns both in this parish of Old Machar, signified their purpose by William Bain, elder, who is cautioner for their pledges. Whereupon being orderly proclaimed without objection they were married."

"31st May 1795 William Monro, weaver in Gilcomston and his spouse Jean Cairns had a son baptized by Mr. James Gregory, minister of the Capel of Ease at Gilcomston and named Joseph. Witnesses Alexander White and William Ross."
