John married Sarah Fassett in 1760. Sarah (daughter of Joseph Fassett and Amity Willard) was born on 13 Jan 1744 in Bedford, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, USA; died on 9 May 1782. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Sarah married Captain John Webber, the grandson of a Scottish emigrant. John was possessed of a strong mind and great energy. In early life he followed the sea. He was not married until he was 28 years old.

They first lived in East Bedford, Massachusetts. Later they bought a farm from Samuel Danforth in Apr 1773. John was often in public service. He served as delegate to important conventions of the Revolutionary period.

When Sarah died at the age of 38, she left 11 children.

The History of Bedford, Massachusetts states "Joseph Fassett bought of Timothy Brooks part of the Oakes farm. After that, Ebenezer Paige - later William Page's name is associated with it."

The "History and Genealogy of the Lexington, Mass. Munroes" shows Jonathan Page married to both this Lydia Munroe and to Lydia Munroe 11-82-1. One of these marriages must be in error, but it is not known which.

Notes:

Error alert: Some researchers say Mary's husband was the Joseph Fassett who was born 2 Oct 1674 in Malden, but her husband was a different Joseph Fassett.

Joseph held important public offices in Lexington.

Joseph married Mary Munroe about 1700. Mary (daughter of William Munroe and Mary Ball) was born on 28 Jun 1678 in Lexington, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, USA; died on 16 Jun 1754 in Lexington, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Joseph and Mary lived northwesterly at the Page Place in Bedford Street, formerly part of Lexington, near the corner of Concord and Billerica. He was a prominent man, filling many town offices: deputy to the General Court (Legislature), Selectman, and assessor. He is buried along with Mary in the old Lexington Burial Grounds, just off the Green on the opposite side of William Munroe's grave.
