Mary was the daughter of Clyde Warr and Charlotte Mildred (Tapp) Brinkley.

As of 1997, Mary had worked for 45 years in nursing, with hospitals, clinics, schools, and had her own pediatric unit at home for 25 years. She was living in Morristown, Tennessee with her husband and granddaughter, Sonya.
