Dugald Monroe

Notes:

One reference says Dugald (or Dougal) was born in North Carolina. The Matthew Monroe reference says he was born in Scotland in 1787, and went to America between 1820 and 1825 with his parents, brother and sisters. His family all settled in North Carolina, except Dugald. He settled in Forsyth County, Georgia, where he made his living making felt hats.

Since Matthew Monroe says he died in 1885 at the age of 88, the birth year of 1797 is used. Other references cite this as the year of his birth.

Dugald's wife, Nancy, died before 1880.
