«i»According to our family Bible, Mary Monroe was born on 16 Jun 1841 and married Frank Richardson in Dec 1860 in Metamora MI. Frank was born 8 Sep 1838 in Almont MI. Their children are William Monroe, Katherine Nora, Fred Monroe (my great-grandfather), Charles Wade, Margaret Walker, Daniel Walker, and James Paul Richardson (all born in Michigan). The family was living in Almont MI at the 1870 census, but had moved to Lincoln, Cloud County KS by time of the 1880 census. Mary and Frank separated or divorced sometime between 1880 and 1885, when Mary E Richardson appears with the children in the state census for Clyde, Clay County KS. Mary was listed in this state census as a widow, although her ex-husband Frank was still very much alive. She died 30 May 1897 in Leavenworth KS. «/i»
