Mrs. McDonald of Bethel, Nova Soctia (a descendent of AlexanderMatheson and Jane Sutherland) found on one of the two trips John and Evelyn White took to
Nova Scotia told them that George Munro was only 2 months old when his parents came to Earltown, Nova Scotia. He was between 6-­12 weeks old and came over on a sailing ship whose journey took about 6 weeks. According to documentation from the Hector Center Trust in Pictou, Nova Scotia the Rogers Hill (Scotsburn area) census done 10 April 1871 showed him as head of household of 9 and listed as a farmer. Died at age 83- religion-Prebyterian. Kilgore family files also have his place of birth as, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. This leads to speculation that he may have been born on board ship. John White, says his wife Evelyn Jones, remembers her mother Ida Kilgore Jones(lda is the oldest child of Elizabeth Margaret Munroe and Wilbert Jefferson Kilgore), as relating a story from her mother, Elizabeth Margaret Munroe, that her father was only 2 months old when he arrived in Pictou County.

Glen Matheson, states that both Mrs. McDonald of Bethel Nova Scotia, an informant re: the family of George Munro, and he himself feel their original information was faulty and that he did not arrive in 1814 but rather in 1818 or later. This is based on the fact that Parish records were found in Bratten of Leatty, Scotland that places the family still there in Scotland in 1818. The records contain the birth records of Robert Munro and Annie Matheson's family group with several of them born in Scotland.

This researcher plans to check this discrepancy out by checking the ships passenger lists for 1814 and 1818 or later. Evelyn C. True, Researcher

Glen Matheson has his date of death different from that of the Kilgore family files ours list it as: 13 Mar 1897. Glen has it listed as 17 Ju11897, Elmfield, Pictou, NS buried in Scotsburn, Pictou, Nova Scotia.

This researcher, found the grave of George Munro and his wife Peggy in the Bethel Cemetery in Scotsburn, Nova Scotia. On the other side of the stone were two of their children Grace and David, both who had never married.
